Taken straight from the CBS archives, most of the episodes are lost due to the live unrecorded broadcasting. Here, I present to you an 8 episode, collector’s treasure of the only 26 ever recorded episodes. (The rest are in an unattainable archive safe in New Jersey.) This set is the best 1950’s quality recording available with an 8 of 10 rating. Except for its last half-season, the program aired live, with kinescope recordings prepared for West Coast broadcasts. Consequently, unlike other popular family comedies and dramas of the 1950s and 1960s that have been rerun over the years, it is unfamiliar to later generations of viewers.
This show was one of the best-loved early TV comedies but unfortunately was broadcast live and the vast majority of the episodes were never recorded.
